CUET: Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The CUET exam is divided into 3 sections based on the knowledge, skill, or aptitude to be assessed. The three sections are:

Language Test

Through this section, the candidate’s command of a language is assessed. The candidates are expected to select two languages they wish to be assessed in. They must select one language from Section IA and one from Section IB.

The languages included in Section IA are: English; Hindi; Telugu; Kannada; Malayalam; Tamil; Marathi; Urdu; Odiya; Assamese; Punjabi; Bengali; Gujarati. (13 Languages to choose from)

Domain Test

This section includes subject-specific questions. The candidates are free to choose their subjects for the domain test; the only condition is that the individuals must have studied those subjects in their 12th grade. General Test

The last section aims to assess the general awareness and aptitude of the candidate. The areas covered under this section are: General Knowledge; Current affairs; General Mental Ability; Numerical Abilities; Quantitative reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra/geometry/mensuration/ statistics taught till 8th Grade); Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
